What interests you about joining a growing, successful apparel company? Is it the opportunity to indulge your passion for clothes, or is it the chance to accelerate your career as you learn about business in an entrepreneurial setting? As an Account Manager with CAbi, you can do both. . .

The Company
Carol Anderson has been a leading clothing designer for over 30 years, and her latest endeavor -- Carol Anderson by invitation, or CAbi -- is an amazing success story. CAbi brings Carol Anderson's exclusive designer clothing to customers through a national network of field-based sales Consultants. We're gearing up for our Spring season, and our continued growth and success has created several new openings for Consultant Account Managers on our team.

The Position
As a Consultant Account Manager (CAM), you will support a group of our independent sales Consultants and be their "connection" to CAbi's corporate offices. You will provide expert guidance on CAbi's policies and systems and help the Consultants to resolve any issues they encounter. For example, a Consultant might need help understanding the ordering system technology, resolving an unusual situation with her client, or assistance getting feedback to the appropriate person within our organization.

The Opportunity
The CAM position is one of the most important "touchpoints" in our company, and the team you will join is full of bright, conscientious, and truly exceptional individuals who are driven to succeed and excited to take on new challenges as we grow. Your success in the CAM role can set you up to pursue a number of diverse career paths within our company.

Our Requirements
If you're the individual we're seeking, first and foremost you enjoy providing service and interacting with people. In addition to being enthusiastic about being part of a young, growing company, you're success oriented and the type who does your homework before coming to an interview. Also important are your:
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated writing skills and the ability to convey complex information over the phone
  • Attention to and follow through on detail
  • Computer literacy (MS Windows, MS Office, Outlook)
  • A team player
  • A kind and respectful nature
  • Bachelor's degree

What Makes the Role Unique

Supportive culture and outstanding work environment -- you might have to visit our offices to get a true sense of our culture, but here are some highlights to give you a "taste": our recently renovated offices are open, beautifully designed (of course!) and support an open flow of communication. It is a "flat" corporate culture where you will interact with everyone from our President to our design team and find that everyone is invested in supporting each other's success. And, "friendly" and "supportive" are more than just buzz-words at CAbi; they define who we are. We handle our business professionally, but we also enjoy and enrich ourselves in the process. To this end, the team regularly attends training workshops, retreats and other team building events and also organizes social activities such as bowling trips, dinners and a book club.

Professional development -- as a CAM, you will be exposed to every facet of our business, an educational experience not unlike an advanced business degree! And, you will have the guidance and support of your manager who will look at the unique gifts and talents you bring to CAbi and help you to design a career path around those interests and strengths. Some of the career paths you might pursue are:
  • Administration
  • Management
  • IT
  • Marketing
  • Training and development
  • Policy writing & compliance
  • Corporate communications
  • Research & analysis
Generous compensation -- we recognize the importance of your role in our success and reward your efforts with a competitive salary and performance-based bonus potential. And, of course, you'll enjoy a generous discount on our designs as well as periodic employee sales events!

More About Your Role

You'll join a team of thirteen CAMs and assume accountability for a number of Consultants in a region of the US, interacting with them via phone and email. For the most part, these Consultants are independent and self-managing, and we provide them with rigorous training and excellent tools. However, they do have questions and issues from time to time, which is where you step in. Your activities will fall into three main areas:
  • Working closely with the Consultants in researching, resolving, and communicating business issues.
  • Overseeing Consultant processes to ensure that they are following policies and procedures.
  • Acting as a consultant advocate with other departments to identify and implement system-wide process improvements.
One of your first objectives will be to understand all of our processes, policies, and procedures, including both the Consultant and CAM handbooks. You'll also need to become competent with our online support system, including going into the system and updating data. You can expect to invest the majority of your time interacting with Consultants to facilitate their success. Some typical issues you'll deal with include technical support for running their business, clarification of policies, assistance in reading and understanding financial and commission reports, offering business management solutions, and providing information about our fashion collections. In addition, your specific activities will include:
  • Working closely with the Consultants in researching, resolving, and communicating business issues.
  • Maintaining and tracking service-related issues.
  • Training and educating the Consultants on customized website usage, functions, and sales tools.
  • Communicating with internal departments to maintain quality order fulfillment and management.
  • Effectively communicating the organization's operating and business policies to the Consultants.
  • Exercising individual judgment in maintaining quality solutions.

Keys to Success

To excel in this role you will embrace a service mindset, and approach your role with confidence and professional maturity. Overall we'll look to you to convey to your Consultants that you are there for them. You'll need to maintain your own poise as you guide the Consultants to a solution. In addition, in order to be an outstanding Consultant Account Manager, you will:
  • Keep an eye out for opportunities to improve and simplify processes, and take the initiative in communicating your ideas
  • Maintain careful attention to detail while at the same time understanding the big picture.
  • Learn to take advantage of all the tools and resources at your disposal.
If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity for you, and you meet the minimum qualifications, we want to hear from you!

More About Our Company

Carol Anderson has garnered a loyal following for over 25 years. It is the personal touch, the attention to detail, and the unique styling that has led to Carol's success.

The story began in a garage in Burbank, California in 1977. The venture began when a talented young designer with a desire to design her own line of clothing met a good friend fresh from graduate school. Carol Anderson and Jan Janura, with $800 between them, believed they had a concept that would sell -- great fashion, excellent fit and quality at an affordable price! In May 1977, the team received their first order from Nordstrom. That was over 30 years ago and soon the brand became a mainstay in retail stores across the country.

Today, Carol Anderson has embarked on a new path. Over the years, Carol would repeatedly hear from customers and friends a desire for greater access to her designs. Likewise, among a wide circle of Carol's friends, she would often hear women talk about their desires for a home based business. So, in 2001, Carol with a small group of friends created CAbi, Carol Anderson by invitation, a direct sales company offering exclusive custom-designed clothing sold only in homes. Trained sales Consultants provide for the personal needs of each customer in the privacy and convenience of a relaxed home setting.
