Opportunity Snapshot

If you are a designer bursting with ideas and the desire to make an impact, the timing is perfect to take your career to the next level. Carol Anderson by invitation (CAbi) is an exclusive clothing designer and apparel manufacturer with a national, loyal client base. What distinguishes CAbi is our highly personalized sales approach and our highly regarded brand that is synonymous with quality and attention to detail. This reputation, along with all of our promotions, is meticulously maintained by our very creative Marketing team, which is currently looking for a savvy Production Assistant to bring new ideas and and assist in the production of marketing materials to strengthen the CAbi brand.

If you have...
  • A great portfolio showcasing your diverse design experience
  • High level color correcting experience
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of the team
  • Advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Experience creating large designs and files for banners and window displays
  • Computer proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment
Preferred, but not required:
  • Web design experience
  • Experience in the fashion industry
...this is your chance to take on a rewarding role that offers:
  • Creative freedom & autonomy -- bring your imagination and your ideas because we place a high value on the fresh perspective you will bring to the group.
  • Ongoing challenge & variety -- every six months, we introduce a new collection, requiring all new promotions and collateral.
  • Supportive culture & outstanding work environment -- you might have to visit our offices to get a true sense of our culture, but here are some highlights to give you a "taste": our recently renovated offices are open, beautifully designed (of course!) and support an open flow of communication. Ours is a flat corporate culture where you will interact with everyone from our President to our sales team and find that everyone is invested in supporting each other's success. And, "friendly" and "supportive" are more than just buzz-words at CAbi; they define who we are. We handle our business professionally, but we also enjoy and enrich ourselves in the process. To this end, the team regularly attends training workshops, retreats and other team building events and also organizes social activities such as bowling trips, dinners and a book club.
  • Generous compensation -- we recognize the importance of your role in our success and will reward your efforts with a competitive salary and performance-based bonus potential. And, of course, you'll enjoy a generous discount on our designs as well as periodic employee sales events!
  • Career development -- we are a very successful and growing organization, and your success in this role will position you to take full advantage of the "upward draft" created by our continued expansion.

Who We Are

Carol Anderson has been a leading clothing designer for over 30 years, and her latest endeavor -- CAbi -- is an amazing success story. CAbi brings Carol Anderson's exclusive designer clothing to customers through a national network of field-based sales Consultants who provide for the personal needs of each customer in the privacy and convenience of a relaxed home setting.

Our Marketing Department, which you'll join, supports these Consultants as well as our Outlet stores with a range of promotions, sales support and corporate communications, including:
  • Printed marketing collateral
  • Web content and design
  • Photo shoots
  • Direct mail
  • Email marketing
  • Banners and wall and window displays
  • Invitations and business cards
  • Handbooks, business planners, and more
Marketing also handles all planning and logistics for company-wide events such as "The Scoop," our bi-yearly, high-profile event that announces each new collection. All creative is performed in-house, which allows us to ensure the consistency of our brand in every promotion and by each of our 2,500 Sales Consultants.

More About Your Role

As our Production Assistant, you will manage multiple projects at a time, most of which will be highly deadline driven. These will include:
  • Color correction of all fashion images for catalogue and web.
  • Outlining and re-touching of all images
  • Layout of corporate communications, including a weekly newsletter and invitations
  • Layout of support and training documents for sales Consultants.
  • Layout of collateral items, including our handbook, business planner, and more.
  • Design production and print management of wall and window displays for our stores. These will include seasonal images, sale and grand opening announcements, and various special promotions.
  • Production of direct marketing collateral such as email and mailers.
  • Signage production (image, directional and shopping event) for "The Scoop".
  • Design assistance with "The Scoop" artwork for bags, mugs, handouts, etc.
  • Design support for T-shirts, hangers, bags, tags and more.

Keys to Success

As in any production role, creativity and technical ability are a must; however, there are also a number of "soft skills" essential for success in our environment. These include:
  • Flexibility & organization -- we operate at a very fast pace, and twice a year, we approach everything anew. You must be able to stay organized as you simultaneously juggle multiple competing priorities and easily adjust to the many transitions that will take place.
  • Team player mentality -- we are big on collaboration and will expect you to effectively partner with others in our corporate environment, take direction from our management team, and willingly put in the time to ensure we meet our collective goals.
If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity, and you meet the required qualifications, we look forward to hearing from you.

More About Our Company

Carol Anderson has garnered a loyal following for over 25 years. It is the personal touch, the attention to detail, and the unique styling that has led to Carol's success.

The story began in a garage in Burbank, California in 1977. The venture began when a talented young designer with a desire to design her own line of clothing met a good friend fresh from graduate school. Carol Anderson and Jan Janura, with $800 between them, believed they had a concept that would sell -- great fashion, excellent fit and quality at an affordable price! In May 1977, the team received their first order from Nordstrom. That was over 30 years ago and soon the brand became a mainstay in retail stores across the country.

Today, Carol Anderson has embarked on a new path. Over the years, Carol would repeatedly hear from customers and friends a desire for greater access to her designs. Likewise, among a wide circle of Carol's friends, she would often hear women talk about their desires for a home based business. So, in 2001, Carol with a small group of friends created CAbi, Carol Anderson by invitation.
